Australian sports journalist, author and athlete Rupert Guinness rode across Australia earlier this year in just over 27 days. It was his second attempt at the "Overlander", after the inaugural Indian Pacific Wheel Race he'd entered in 2017 was cancelled when another competitor was killed.
He tells Kathryn what drives him to compete in ultra-endurance events.
