"Fascism can grow on any soil".
That is the warning from Russian journalist Elena Kostyuchenko after being exiled from her home country, which she labels a fascist state.
After reporting in Ukraine on the Russian invasion, she fled when she was told Russian soldiers had been ordered to kill her.
But she couldn't go home either.
Her editor told her she would be in grave danger if she went back to Russia.
Six journalists working for Novaya Gazeta where she worked, have been murdered since 2000 - including her inspiration Anna Politkovskaya.
Elena Kostyuchenko has since survived a suspected poisoning.
While at the fiercely independent and critical newspaper, she often reported on major events like mass protests or terrorist attacks.
She has also written about the lives of ordinary Russians not usually heard or seen.
