'Too many nurses for the budget'? Nurses Org hits back

Health New Zealand Commissioner Lester Levy it has "too many nurses for its budget", following a recruitment campaign where he says 'the results were way beyond what was anticipated'.

But he has revealed a clinical and patient safety review is underway, likely to cover whether the system has the number of nurses it needs.

Yesterday a document dump from Health NZ Te Whatu Ora revealed more details about the large deficit facing New Zealand's hospitals, which is now projected to be $1.76 billion.
