Cardiac specialist, Dr Dean Boddington finishes his permanent role at Tauranga Hospital this Friday. After 16 years, he is leaving citing burnout.
A year ago Dr Boddington wrote to Te Whatu Ora / Health New Zealand about his concerns, but nothing has changed.
He says his position at Tauranga Hospital is no longer tenable and he'll continue in private practice, and may look to work overseas.
