Around 230 workers will lose ther jobs when the Kinleith Mill discontinues paper production next year.
Staff were called into a meeting this morning where they were told that manufacturing paper had become unprofitable.
Owner company Oji Fibre Solutions says it will permanently shut down the Kinleith paper machine at the end of June next year.
In September Oji announced it will close its mill in Penrose, Auckland on December the 18th.
