An aerial photo shows the site of a road collapsed above huge sinkholes at an intersection in Yashio City, Saitama Prefecture, adjacent to Tokyo on February 2, 2025. The hole appeared on Jan. 28th, and swallowed a truck and a driver. The search effort for the 74-year-old man remains suspended after a quantity of water was found in the hole. The cause of the road collapse is believed to be the breakage of an old sewer pipe. ( The Yomiuri Shimbun ) (Photo by Daisuke Urakami / Yomiuri / The Yomiuri Shimbun via AFP)
