The Stolen Children
A documentary called The Stolen Children of Aotearoa outlines a terrible chapter in New Zealand's history.
Between 1950 and 2019 an estimated 250,000 children, many of whom were Māori, suffered at the hands of the state.
The documementary traces the origns of injustice through colonisation, the impact of urbanisation and includes the voices and stories of more than twenty people.
It is a powerful, emotional watch, driven and overseen by the work of investigative journalist Aaron Smale.
