9:10 National Surfing Championships in Dunedin
The 61st National Surfing Championship has been entertaining crowds at St Clair beach in Dunedin this week. A total of 26 divisions will have been contested by the time the event concludes. The competition kicked off with the senior men's and women's divisions at the start of the week and it is all wrapped up today and tomorrow with the open divisions. 9:20 The Punakaiki petrel patrol
Late at night in the West Coast village of Punakaiki a dedicated team of conservationists are out rescuing Westland petrel that are at risk from overhead powerlines and vehicle headlights. They call themselves the Community Petrel Patrol and a member each night is out on local roads after 10:30pm looking for fledgling tāiko Westland petrel stricken on a high risk section of State Highway 6. The section of road is under the birds' flight paths to the ocean. Members patrol on ebikes, others in their cars driving slowly looking for a black bird on a black road at night. If they find a fledgling, they're taken in and cared for over one night before being launched from a nearby cliff the following night.
9:45 Wills and getting your affairs in order
If you don't make a will you risk confusion following your death. Gary Fitzpatrick is a co-founder of Comac Trustees and has over 30 years experience in estate planning, administration and management of estates and trusts. Gary speaks to Summer Times about the importance of wills, different ways of managing estates, and the importance of digital footprints in our online world.

A few months into the walk, she has already completed the North Island, and has covered much of the South Island, as she makes her way along the Te Araroa trail from Cape Reinga to Bluff. 11:10 Hotel thefts: The oddest items pocketed by punters
It's tempting to slip the odd soap, or pen, into your pocket at hotel checkout - low-level thefts in the scheme of things. But a survey of more than 1300 hoteliers has revealed much larger (and more expensive) items have been pocketed by punters. Tassilo Keilmann from Wellness Heaven, who conducted the study, says light fingered hotel guests have been known to swipe televisions, pianos, and even mattresses. While theft isn't a particular problem here, Hotel Council Aotearoa strategic director James Doolan, admits anything not bolted down can, and will, occasionally go missing.
11:30 Top tracks to listen to this summer
Brad Warrington aka DJ Sticky Fingaz reviews some of best music out over the summer - some you will have heard and some that might be new.
12:00 Urban Jumble Daily Quiz
Every day we're giving you three words. Within each word are letters which spell out a New Zealand town or city. Each letter can only be used once. While some words may have more than one answer, the correct answer must be the town or city we're thinking of. So have a pen and paper and a map at hand and have a go.
