Natalie Murray Beale

Natalie Murray Beale is a conductor, and these days an acting coach. It was Natalie who taught Cate Blanchett how to wield the baton when she played the role of the conductor Tár, in the 2022 hit movie of the same name. This month, Natalie is conducting NZ Opera's latest production; Mozart's relationship drama, Cosi Fan Tutte. RNZ Concert host Bryan Crump spoke with the Australian born conductor about turning Cate Blanchett into a Maestro. First though, Bryan asked Natalie about Cosi Fan Tutte, and how much say she has as music director, on what happens on stage.
