He's helped bring $500 million worth of films to this country, and counting, and for his services to the film industry, producer Barrie Osborne is now an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
New York born Barrie has dual citizenship, after falling in love with Aotearoa when he first visited back in the 1980s.
Since then he's been an ambassador for the New Zealand film industry, enticing moviemakers here from around the world.
The Rescue, The Water Horse, Pete's Dragon, Krampus, Ghost in the Shell, and most recently the Chinese funded blockbuster Meg are all on his CV.
Barrie was also part of the Oscar-winning team behind The Lord of the Rings, picking up two nominations and the 2004 Academy Award for Best Picture for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
