In the UK, Jay Blades has established himself as a go to upcycler of classic British furniture - brands like Echol are a particular favourite. Sturdy, unfussy and out of fashion - until Jay gets his hands on them.
On the TV show Money for Nothing Jay transforms furniture taken to the tip into mini masterpieces with a modern twist involving a splash of paint or fabric colour. He's also set up a social enterprise Jay & Co that encourages disadvantaged groups in the community to get creative.
