A man has been arrested in Auckland after the car he was driving ploughed into a home in Auckland.
Police said those inside the house were shaken but unharmed.
A patrol unit came across a vehicle being driven eratically and running red lights on Wednesday night.
Police said the driver took off but there was no pursuit given the vehicle's high speed.
Officers then found the car after it had crashed into a house at Druces Road.
They say the driver's actions were wreckless and it is fortunate an innocent member of the public was not seriously hurt.
A 36-year-old man is set to face charges.
