International dairy prices have risen for the first time in two months.
At the latest global auction overnight, the average price was up by 2.7 percent to $US3412 a tonne.
The price for whole milk powder, which has a key influence on farmer payouts, rose by 3.6 percent to $3074 a tonne.
Prices for other products were generally stronger, with gains for butter, cheese, and skim milk powder.
The volumes sold rose by more than 1 percent to 25,000 tonnes.
