The New Zealand men's hockey team have added a silver medal to the gold won by the women's team at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games today.
The Black Sticks men lost to Australia 2-0.
After a goal-less first quarter, Australia struck twice in the second quarter, and New Zealand could not answer in a tense second half.
With just over six minutes to go, New Zealand pulled their goalkeeper. Soon after, New Zealand was penalised, but the world number one team failed to convert the penalty stroke.
It's the ninth time in a row Australia has beaten the Black Sticks men.
