The new mayor of Hamilton has been sworn into office.
Julie Hardaker who beat the incumbent mayor, Bob Simcock, is new to local government.
Long-serving councillor Gordon Chesterman was nominated by Ms Hardaker as her deputy.
The nomination was passed unanimously by the newly sworn in council of 12.
