A stretch of State Highway 30 in Rotorua has re-opened after a fatal crash on Sunday morning.
The crash happened about 4.30am when the man was walking on Te Ngae Road between Lee Road and Owhata Road. The road is part of State Highway 30 which leads to Whakatane and Tauranga.
The road closure had blocked access to the airport, meaning drivers had to take a detour of up to 40km around the lake to reach it.
