A police patrol car is a write-off after a stolen ute slammed into it this morning north of Kerikeri and shunted it down a seven metre bank.
The driver of the police car who was setting up road spikes to stop the ute, was unhurt.
The driver of the stolen vehicle and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
Police had been chasing the car before it ran over spikes near Puketona Junction, and carried on until it hit a bridge - and the parked patrol car.
Two men, one aged 16, and the other in his early 20s, were arrested and will be facing a number of driving charges.
