A police dive squad is on its way to Kaikōura to help find a missing diver.
Kaikōura Coastguard president Neroli Gold said the man was reported missing about 7pm last night.
Ms Gold said the man's speargun and catch bag had since been found
The dive squad was expected to arrive soon to help with search efforts, she said.
