Motorists in parts of Southland and Otago are being advised to take extra care tomorrow morning, with frosty conditions expected.
MetService is forecasting it will be -3°C in Invercargill and
-2° in Alexandra and Mosgiel overnight.
Meteorologist April Clark said with those kind of temperatures, it was likely there would be ice on the roads tomorrow morning.
"It can even go further into the day in shaded areas that don't get the sun too much, so people should be careful right into the morning if they're out on the road."
Ms Clark said coastal areas down south weren't expected to be as cold, with Dunedin forecast to be 5° overnight.
