The incoming Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, has spoken to her Canadian counterpart, Justin Trudeau.

The two spoke this morning via Skype.
In a tweet, Mr Trudeau said he was eager to meet with Ms Ardern soon to keep building ties and trade between New Zealand and Canada.

Mr Trudeau and Ms Ardern will both be at next month's APEC leaders' meeting in Vietnam next month.
Ms Ardern also had a call from the American President, Donald Trump, over the weekend.
