A person has been killed in a collision between a car and a truck in central Southland.
It happened on State Highway 96, near the small settlement of Browns, east of Winton, shortly after 7pm, police said.
Another person suffered minor injuries.
One person died in another crash in Manawatu at about 1am on Saturday, and two people died after a crash near Wairoa in Hawke's Bay at about 8pm on Friday night.
