A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a bus in Hamilton this afternoon.

Emergency services were called about 2.30pm to a commercial site on Tasman Road in Avalon.
It follows another crash in Auckland where an elderly man was hit by a car in Highland Park, east Auckland, just before midday.
He was taken to Auckland City Hospital in a critical condition.
