Traffic heading out of Wellington city is heavy due to this morning's mobile crane crash on State Highway 2.
The crane is expected to be removed from 7pm, and motorists are told to expect significant delays leaving the city.
The Transport Agency said traffic is heavy through to Petone on State Highway 2, while there were long queues on the Ngauranga Gorge offramp headed for Lower Hutt.
Motorists were also asked not to rubberneck around the crash site.
