Police investigating the death of a young man in Auckland on Saturday say he was playing music and socialising with friends in a park just before he was killed.
They've opened a homicide investigation into the death of the 21-year-old late at night at Jellicoe Park in Manurewa.
Acting Detective Inspector Warrick Adkin said a post-mortem was being done today, and his name had not yet been released.
Adkin said police had already talked to people about the incident, and others have called in with information.
Police are urging anyone else with information to get in touch, even anonymously, by calling Crimestoppers.
