Marlborough harbour authorities are using a drone to send safety messages to the boaties this summer.
Harbourmaster Luke Grogan said an industrial drone clipped with loudspeakers will be flown around the Marlborough Sounds from 9am tomorrow.
He said it is important to spread the messages because middle age men can be resistant to the safer boating message but it's them who dominate the accident statistics.
The messages are about safe speeds, avoiding alcohol and making sure people have two forms of communication on board.
Grogan said if it goes well, they will move the drone to the different ports throughout the summer.
