Two young people have been arrested after fleeing police on an Auckland motorway earlier today.

The police said a car that was reported stolen failed to stop for police on State Highway 1 near Glenfield on the North Shore before 11 am this morning.
The vehicle then took off and was monitored by an Eagle helicopter as it travelled south across the motorway.
It was finally forced to stop in Manurewa in South Auckland.
The two young people who have been taken into custody will be referred to Youth Aid.
