The number of new daily community cases has fallen to 3650 today, but another 27 deaths of people with Covid-19 have also been reported.
The seven-day rolling average of community case numbers today is 4418, down from 5608 last Saturday.
In today's statement, the Ministry of Health said there were 546 people in hospital with the virus, including 10 in ICU.
It said there were now a total of 1750 deaths confirmed as attributable to Covid-19, with an average of 14 deaths confirmed each day over the past week as being attributable to the coronavirus.
The 27 new deaths of people with Covid-19 reported today include three people who were in their 50s, two in their 60s, seven in their 70s, 12 in their 80s and three aged over 90. Sixteen were women and 11 were men.
One was from Northland, seven were from Auckland region, two were from Waikato, two were from Lakes, three were from Hawke's Bay, two were from Taranaki, three were from MidCentral, two were from Whanganui, one was from Wellington region, three were from Canterbury, one was from Southern.
There were 4126 new cases of Covid-19 in the community and 13 new deaths of people with the virus reported yesterday.
There have now been 1,670,483 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand.
