A man trapped under a house in Carterton has been cut free and rescued.
Fire and Emergency (FENZ) said the man became stuck after the house slipped off its piles.
FENZ shift manager Alison Munn said upon arrival the man appeared uninjured.
"Our crews quickly extricated the person from under the house by cutting a hole in the floor."
Munn said FENZ first responded to the incident around 9.40am.
Three fire crews - one from Carterton, one from Greytown and one from Masterton - responded.
Police said they were called to a workplace incident on Chester Road in West Taratahi this morning and one person had been assessed by an ambulance crew.
They said WorkSafe would be notified of the incident and enquiries were ongoing.
