An initial scene examination has been completed at the Shelly Bay building razed by a blaze.
The fire at an iconic warehouse building on the Miramar Peninsula took hold on Wednesday morning.
In a statement, police said the scene had been handed over to council, which would now clear the building over the coming days.
Police expected to return to the scene next week to continue enquiries, once safe to do so.
"As police continue to investigate the circumstances of the fire, we encourage anyone with information to come forward," the statement said.
