A mall in Thames has been ram-raided with the use of five vehicles overnight.
Police were called after multiple alarms were activated at Goldfields Shopping Centre on Mary Street about 2.10am.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kristine Clarke said five vehicles were used to gain entry and driven carelessly through the premises.
Significant damage was caused, and an unknown amount of goods and money were stolen, Clarke said.
The offenders fled the scene but police had recovered three of the vehicles involved, she said.
Goldfields Shopping Centre manager John Freer said about 10 to 12 youths hit two businesses, loaded their vehicles, and smashed their way out another exit.
Freer said the mall was closed on Thursday.
Police said they were conducting a scene examination and were working to identify and locate those involved.
