The highway around the Coromandel Peninsula coast is fully open again now that a landslide between Thames and Coromandel township has been cleared.
State Highway 25 was closed when slips came down at Ruamahanga Bay and Waiomu two weeks ago.

SH25 is now fully OPEN by Ruamahunga in both directions (day and night) under a temporary speed limit of 50km/hr.

Waka Kotahi spokesperson Liam Ryan said clearing the slips and managing further landslides has been a huge job for contractors.
