Three people have been arrested and several vehicles seized as the funeral of a Head Hunters gang member took place in Auckland today.
Charles Pongi, 32, died in hospital after being shot during a fight between two gangs at park in Point England two weeks ago.
The police monitored the motorcycle convoy as it headed to a church service in Onehunga today.
Nobody has yet been charged with Pongi's death, part of a flurry of recent violent deaths in the past several weeks.
Assistant Commissioner Sam Hoyle sais officers will also be active in the coming weeks and will be working on long-term solutions to gang tensions.
A Head Hunter gang member has already been arrested in connection to Pongi's death, accused of breaching bail conditions.
