Police have completed a scene examination at the house where a 19-year-old died on Friday morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said investigations into the circumstances leading to the man's death at a Strathmore, Wellington house were continuing.
The deceased had been involved in a "family harm-related incident" prior to the incident which caused his death, police said.
A scene examination had been completed and the information gathered to date indicated the man had died as a result of injuries sustained accidentally, Leitch said.
Police were continuing to conduct interviews with family members of the deceased man, as well as with residents of neighbouring properties.
The man's death would be referred to the Coroner and a post mortem would be carried out tomorrow.
