A baby was in one of the three cars involved in a fatal crash in North Canterbury last night.
Two people died in the crash which happened just after 5.10pm on SH1 near Leithfield in North Canterbury.
Police confirmed that a baby was in one of the cars, but was not badly injured.
Two other people were taken to Christchurch Hospital, and were now in a stable condition.
