Fire crews have been battling a blaze at a commercial property in the Auckland suburb of Penrose overnight.
Fire and Emergency responded to the fire on Fairfax Ave at around 3.40am.
Fire communications shift manager Paul Radden said at the height of the fire 12 appliances and 48 firefighters attended.
The New Zealand Herald is reporting the fire was at a plumbing supplies store and the roof has collapsed.
The cause of the fire is unexplained, the Herald says.
He said the fire was now contained and one crew remained on site dampening down hotspots.
