One person has died and three are seriously injured after a crash closed part of State Highway 3 near Urenui.
Police were called to the crash involving three vehicles near the Onaero River at 10.50am.
Main North Road/State Highway 3 was closed between Ohanga Road and Kaipikari Road near Urenui following the crash, but had since reopened.

Four people were taken to Taranaki Base Hospital and one of them later died, police said.
The three others remained in hospital with serious injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit had conducted a scene examination and enquiries were ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
