Police have named the man who died in a crash on State Highway 6 near Kingston on 19 December.
He was Timothy Peter Herrick, 36, of Invercargill.
Another 20 people were injured, two critically, in the crash near the intersection with Glen Nevis Station Road.
Two people trapped in the bus had to be cut out.
St John sent at least 11 ambulances to the scene and seven helicopters helped to take the injured to hospital.
Police say enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
