A water main has burst in Auckland's suburb of Mount Wellington, causing disruption to traffic.
Police were called to the incident shortly after 11am on Thursday.
Motorists are asked to avoid the section of Carbine Road, between Clemow Drive and Te Ahoterangi Rise, as well as one of the entries to Sylvia Park Shopping Mall.
An RNZ reporter at the scene said water was still leaking from the area shortly before 3pm, and WaterCare contractors were on site.
WaterCare said in a statement, that crews arrived on scene at 12.15pm to work on isolating the burst and begin repairs.
"As a result, about 50 properties experienced low pressure or no water," WaterCare head of maintenance services Richie Rameka said.
"The cause of the burst was attributed to a third party."
Pressure to the water supply was now restored, Rameka said, by shutting down valves to isolate the affected area, allowing the rest of the watermain to build pressure.
"There are no properties connected to the affected area and repairs to the watermain are now underway," he said.
