SH12 in Northland, SH29 in Bay of Plenty reopen after crashes

A person was critically injured in a crash on State Highway 29 over the Kaimai Range, while State Highway 12 has reopened following a single vehicle crash near Kaikohe.

Kaimai crash causing long delays

State Highway 29, Lower Kaimai, has reopened following a crash this morning.

One person received critical injuries and was airlifted hospital.

The injured person was travelling in a vehicle with two other occupants, both of whom were taken to hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries

The sole occupants of two other vehicles involved were uninjured.

The road was closed but has now reopened.

SH12 reopens after crash near Kaikohe

In Northland, a truck had rolled just after 11am on Friday, on State Highway 12 at Taheke, south west of Kaikohe.

Police said no one was injured in the crash, but the highway closed as the truck was blocking the road.

State Highway 12 has since reopened at Taheke, southwest of Kaikohe, and a police spokesperson said they would like to thank motorists for their patience.
