Police say a person who died in a crash in northern Hawke's Bay was a 14-year-old.
Kaos Brown, from Wairoa, died after the single vehicle crash on 12 January, police said in a statement.
"Kaos was a valued member of our school who will be dearly missed," Wairoa College said on social media. "He involved himself fully in all aspects of school and always with a smile on his face."
Four other people were injured, and taken to hospital.
They had since been released from hospital.
Police were continuing to investigate what happened.
