Waikato police are looking for any witnesses to a motorcycle crash on Tauranga Road on 28 January at 7:50pm.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital but later died on 4 February over the critical injuries he sustained.
He was driving west over the Kaimai ranges on a red Triumph Rocket III with the registration 78ZNH.
Police said they were looking for anyone with dashcam footage from the Kaimai ranges - State Highway 29 - between 7.20pm and 8.10pm on 28 January.
