Police are investigating the unexplained death of a man at a Wairoa property on Lucknow Street.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 4pm on Wednesday.
The man was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective inspector Dave de Lange said the death was being treated as unexplained.
"Enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of what has occurred," he said.
A scene and post-mortem examination will begin on Thursday.
