Police are investigating after a critically ill person was found on a road near Thames on Friday.
State Highway 25 has now reopened between Kopu and Thames.
It was originally thought the person was injured, but the police have now determined that they suffered a medical event.
Police said the person was found at 5.50am and was airlifted to hospital.
