Six people have been hurt in two crashes in Tasman, including three who were critically injured, with police appealing for information and witnesses to one of the incidents.
About 8:30pm on Thursday emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision on Lightband Road (SH6), near the Clover Road intersection south of Hope.
Two people involved were in hospital in a critical condition, police said, while two others had moderate to serious injuries.
Police said the cause of the crash was being investigated and the Serious Crash Unit had been at the scene.
The road reopened shortly after 6am on Friday.
Appeal for witnesses to Coastal Highway crash
Meanwhile, police were appealing for witnesses in a separate two-vehicle crash that happened the same day in Tasman, leaving two people injured, one critically.
Emergency services were called to The Coastal Highway (SH60) near Mapua Drive, about 2pm on Thursday.
Police said they want to see any security or dashboard camera footage from the area at the time, and want to speak to anyone who saw the crash.
