Firefighters remain at a rural property in Ramarama, south of Auckland, after a large house fire overnight.

Fire and Emergency (FENZ) was called to the home around 11.30pm.

Four fire trucks and two water tankers battled the flames at its peak. One crew remained on site, monitoring for hotspots.

There were no reports of injuries.

FENZ said the blaze may have spread from a car fire.

A fire investigator will be back on site on Wednesday morning to determine the cause.
