A number of frozen vegetable products from Deep Brand are being recalled by MPI due to a risk of Salmonella.

Deep Brand green garlic, sprouted mat, sprouted moong and surti undhiu mix were being recalled by Vimms Enterprise Ltd.

All batches and dates of the sprouted mat, sprouted moong and surti undhiu mix were recalled along with green garlic with a use by date of November 2026.

According to MPI's website, the products were imported from India and sold at ethnic supermarkets nationwide along with online at Vimms Enterprise Ltd's online store.

MPI said anyone who had the affected products should not eat them unless the products were cooked thoroughly (piping hot all the way through).

There had been no reports of associated illness, MPI said, however anyone who had consumed any of the products who had concerns about their health should seek medical advice.

Customers could return the products to the store they had purchased the items from for a full refund.

Salmonella infections could cause gastro-intestinal illness including diarrhoea, fever, abdominal cramps, headache, nausea and vomiting. It usually lasted between four and seven days, but more severe cases could last up to 10 days.
