A man is facing charges after arson attacks on cellphone towers in Wanaka.
There had been a series of arsons in recent months, police said.
The 41-year-old has also been charged over a tower fire in Lindis Pass in July.
He was due to appear in Queenstown District Court on Friday on arson and firearms charges.
"The team have worked tirelessly investigating, and we are thankful that no one was hurt as a result of the actions of this individual," Acting Detective Sergeant Julie Bowman said.
"This is a good result for our community and they should feel confident we will always work to hold those to account to carry out such mindless attacks."
Telecommunications company One NZ said it would take at least a month to rebuild one of its towers destroyed earlier this month.
Police said the arsons were frustrating for police and a serious risk to the community.
