A man has been arrested after a police chase through large parts of west Auckland.
Police said they received reports of a firearm visible in a vehicle in Westgate at about 4.30pm Sunday.
Officers followed the vehicle in patrol cars through the Huapai and Kumeu areas.
The Eagle helicopter was also used to track it across Massey and Henderson.
Police said they managed to force the vehicle to stop in Henderson by laying down road spikes in its path.
A 33-year-old man has been taken into custody and is likely to face a range of driving related charges, police said.
