An Auckland bush fire on a walking track in the eastern Waitākere Ranges has now been contained.
Fire and Emergency (FENZ) said they were called to Fairy Falls walking track on Scenic Drive, Henderson at 8am on Sunday.
Five fire trucks and support vehicles were sent to the scene, with the fire located a 25 minute walk away from the closest road.
FENZ said crews were having to fight the fire, which was eight by eight metres and two metres tall, with hand tools.
The main fire has been contained, but FENZ said crews were still working to put out hot spots.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
