Prime Minister Christopher Luxon speaks to media from APEC in South Korea

1:36 pm on 1 November 2025

The prime minister is set to speak to the media from South Korea, where he has been attending the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders' meeting.

Christopher Luxon will take questions from reporters on Saturday afternoon (NZ time).

He has so far had one-on-ones with the presidents of South Korea and the United States.

Luxon said trade between New Zealand and South Korea had doubled since the FTA (free trade agreement) was signed 10 years ago, and the country was now New Zealand's fifth biggest trading partner.

He was excited to take that relationship further by entering into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with South Korea.

He recently also attended the East Asia Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
